Hello, and welcome to the latest KR newsletter.
April is upon us and spring is well and truly in the air. We’ve been keeping ourselves very busy over the past month with a steady stream of 2nd hand collections hitting our Discogs page and physical shop, covering a wide array of genres, moods and budgets :) As always we’ve kept the racks (and website) full of new releases and the dance music scene in general feels really healthy at the moment with killer music from a host of both new and established labels alike.
It wouldn’t be an April newsletter without mention of Record Store Day 2019 and it seems to have crept up again this year surrounded by similar levels of excitement and scepticism from both punters and store owners alike. This year we’ve joined up with our friends here at The Cause and are getting in the spirit with an all day event with a pop up shop, DJs, cheap drinks and general appreciation of all things vinyl. Check the Facebook event page HERE for details and hopefully see you down there on Saturday 13th April from midday.
Next up on the agenda - we’re getting involved in a new series of music events taking place in the newly refurbished bar area of Earth Kitchen in the heart of Dalston. On Easter Friday, 19th April you can catch KR's very own Karl Mann down at Earth Bar for an extended 5 hour set on Earth Kitchen’s newly installed Tannoy sound system. Playing the very best that the store has to offer alongside his own extensive record collection, all in outstanding high fidelity sound. Entry is free all night and all event details can be found HERE.
That’s just about all for this issue. Make sure to stay locked via our social channels over the new couple of weeks when we’ll be revealing some big news re: our next permanent KR home and in the meantime come say hello in Tottenham and get in touch if you fancy a dig outside of normal opening hours. All that’s left now is to round up with a selection of our current choice picks from the last few weeks.
